We forgive him though: “he’s got to play it safe, to make it into the White House, then… then we can become a people again.”

We could almost feel the hope of the Universe, the hope of the Earth, the hope of the Heavens fade back from the stage in the past months. The God’s, Goddesses, Ancestors, and Ancient Peoples of the Earth, had all leaned forward.. thinking we might do it, we might rise: that we might stand out of our infantile obsession with our own shit and walk towards becoming a real civilization. And now, well, now we can feel their shrug of dismissal: “silly humans.. they’re back to their bullshit.”

I was skeptical, watching a man transform his stance in order to win: to come down, way down from a once idealistic and inspired stance.. to now a .. zero. I was skeptical that it was really just tactical- maybe he didn’t have it, maybe it was all an act and now he was just being his true political self… passionless. Moving wonderfully, but saying little, Obama is now little more than a well articulated PR campaign.

But last week, Obama made a quiet, but important, nod to the Forces of the Universe. In a subtle and beautiful moment of ceremonial communion, of sacred pilgrimage, he cried out with the whole of his being that he was still in it, still a soldier of the ‘emergent human potential.’

With a small detachment of his assigned security detail by his side, Obama met the Pacific Ocean for a few moments of graceful homage - to dance with the Wave Peoples for a few moments. We can only guess the wisdom and encouragement they imparted to him, and the prayers he may have offered to him.

For this writer, it is a sign of hope, and reveals the inner heart and true primal allegiances of our hero. He’s still there, the Force is still strong with him. He hasn’t turned, just yet.
